Running, Cycling, Swimming - Building Community Together

Island athletes running, cycling and swimming together. Our goal is to build a strong Island athletic community. We encourage friendship and fellowship through sports! Summer residents encouraged to join us!

The Nantucket Athletic Association (also known as Nantucket Triathlon Club Inc.)  is a non profit 501(c)(3). The Club was created in 2012 to manage races, training events- swims, cycling and running - for Island athletes.  In 2024 we changed our name to Nantucket Athletic Association to reflect our broader interest in Island sports and community events.

As a non-profit we are an all-volunteer effort and have no paid officers. We contribute a substantial sum of our annual proceeds to support Island charities and youth sports!

To participate in these events and workouts, you must sign the participant waiver which protects all athletes. Sign the participant waiver.

JOIN THE NANTUCKET ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION

  Annual dues are $25.00.  

As a non-profit we are an all-volunteer effort and have no paid officers. We contribute a substantial sum of our annual proceeds to support Island charities and youth sports! Please join and consider a donation as well! The Association insurance will not cover you if you are not a member!

MOVE WITH OUR ISLAND ATHLETIC COMMUNITY

The Association hosts three weekly community runs - Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. The run schedule is posted here and on the Monument Running Group Facebook page. There are also open water swims beginning in May and the swim schedule can be found here and on the Nantucket Open Water Swimming Facebook page. To participate in these workouts you will have to sign the waiver.  

The Club sponsors and manages the Nantucket Half Marathon which will occur on Sunday October 11, 2026. You can register now.

Running

The Club/Association organizes three runs a week - Tuesday and Thursday at 6:00 am and Sunday Long Run at 7:00 am. 

The place of the start of the runs is announced weekly here and through our Facebook Monument Running Group and by group email. Email - jmeehan207@gmail.com to be on the list. All paces are welcome!

Swimming

The Club/Association supports various programs at the Nantucket Community Pool including Adult Learn to Swim and the Masters Program. We also conduct open-water swims beginning in May.

We also have a Swim Across America Nantucket Team!  

Cycling

Our Club/Association members are active cyclist and mountain bikers. We generally join the community bike groups which meet at the Rotary at 6:00 am. While the Association does not host these rides you can get notice of these rides by requesting to be made part of ackbike@googlegroups.com

Nantucket Athletic Association Giving Back

The Nantucket Athletic Association is active in the community. We support Nantucket Adult Learn to Swim, Swim Across America, Masters Swimming, and various youth sports, Nantucket High School Cross Country, Sailing, Swimming and Aquatics, STAR, Harvey Foundation, Addiction Solutions, Nantucket Conservation Foundation.
