Run for the Roses

Low Beach Road Parking lot in S’conset 6:00am

This is the height of the rose bloom on Nantucket and there is nowhere better to see the glory of the rose blooms than S’conset. The plan is to the travel up to the village for a group photo at 6:15.

Short Run Course: Then travel up Baxter road (skipping the bluff path) to Sankaty Light House which makes for 2 ½ miles, so a good place to loop back for those interested in 5miles.

Long Run Course: For those going the distance we’ll continue past the light house along Sankaty Head road to Hoick’s Hollow. Then Barnard Valley Road through the moors and making a left turn at the Milestone Cranberry bogs- if you get tot Gibbs Pond then you’ve gone too far. Travel south across theMilestone Cranberry bogs to Milestone Road back to S’conset and finally the Low Beach Rd parking lot.
